Why My Alerts and related plugins are not used in http://community.mybb.com? They increase the interactivity and make so much easier to see if there is anything that needs your attention.

http://community.mybb.com/thread-127444.html
We use a limited amount of plugins on the MyBB Community to keep this as close to a stock install as possible, as it is somewhat of a MyBB demo. If we installed MyAlerts, people may think it is a default feature or official plugin, of which it is neither Smile
We run a stock version of MyBB as much as possible here to act as a kind of demo of the core software.
I understand, but at the same time myalerts notification system would help so much users and developers. I think it is a tradeoff worth doing.

Thanks for answering

This is why we try to stay away from using plugins which affect the user experience: http://community.mybb.com/thread-140131.html
Hi Nathan: community.mybb.com could have a page showing the plugins used by the site. IMHO, the benefits of having notifications would be much greater than the possible confusion of having added plugins to the site.

thanks for this great tool!

I was kind of with you until you used that thread for an example. So people will say 'Why don't I get alerts?' -- then someone will say 'xxx blah download here' -- mission accomplished.

Since I have become accustomed to using MyAlerts any board without it feels sub par. jmo
Using too many plugins - especially ones we don't need - will raise questions such as that. MySupport is an exception, we need it. People join this board to test out MyBB so it should be as close to a stock install as possible.

I get that-- really I do, but needing is relative. This forum could exist without MyAlerts and it could also exist without MySupport . . . if this is about this forum being a 'preview' of a default install then it is fail anyway-- this forum looks nothing like a default install.

And it's relative to our community. We need MySupport, it was designed for us. Our jobs would be a lot harder without it.

It's supposed to be feature wise. MySupport is the only plugin which affects user experience.

We won't be installing MyAlerts here.
