Hi guys I have been recently experiencing problems with my shared hosting. SQL database error 1040 - too many connections. Could you tell me please how to properly host a busy forum. Maybe someone from MyBB can tell me where this forum is hosted and what plan it has. Please guys help me.
My forum is hosted at iPage.com and they are awesome so I am thinking about VPSlink.com plant - Link-5. Would that be the best?
Thanks
Can you give us details on your forum so we can pick a good plan for you?

Some good hosts that I recommend are:
http://asmallorange.com/hosting/cloud/
http://www.valcatohosting.com/vps/

VPSLink seems very overpriced.
What's your forum URL? If it's the one in your signature, you don't need a VPS for that. If you have 84 posts and you're running in to server issues, your host clearly is doing something wrong. Big Boards can run just fine on shared hosting.

MyBB.com is running on multiple dedicated servers, but we have a lot of traffic (think millions) and need the resources.

I think it might be another URL because he said that he was getting errors and this one seems to run fine.
WOW. That is unbelievable! Maybe it just a temporarily problem. Could you tell me please how many traffic MyBB on shared server can handle before starting to cause errors?
Thanks very much

Hi it is http://letsforum.com but now its ok it was just like 10 min of error

Hi thanks http://letsforum.com
It depends on how well the server is configured, what software it's running, how many clients are on the server, and what hardware the server is using. It's about picking the right host.
MyBB can handle loads of traffic. It's your host that will have a problem. Maybe you're attracting a lot of spam bot attention. Try looking into installing cloudflare on your domain.
Hi I am using "pingler.com" maybe its causing too many connections?

Hi could you tell me if those pinning services can cause the 1040 - too many connections error?
Your forum should easily be handled by any quality shared hosting service. You are having connection problems because iPage offers low quality, oversold hosting and a website on the same server owned by somebody else is hogging all of the database resources.

Send me a PM if you're looking to move to a much more stable and reliable host.

Zash would be a really good choice. His services are awesome Smile!
