Hello,

Should threads that reach a certain number of posts (e.g. 10,000 - 20,000 replies) be continued in another thread?

Does it pose a database problem (maybe lock-ups)? Does it pose any other problems?

If so, what should the limit be?

I've known threads to exceed 100,000 posts. There can be issues with large threads, and we've resolved some of them in MyBB 1.8. We have a thread on this forum with 24,000 posts and I don't think we have any performance issues with it.
