So, my website has spam bots. Who somehow get past EVERYTHING I throw at them: Real-life questions, reCAPTCHA, registration time, I even disabled google from the spiders/bots list.
I can give a list of plugins.

Also, if you don't see any spam bots, this is because I delete and IP ban them constantly. And until an administrator activates their accounts, they can't post either.

Disable guest posting
Change the Powered by text in the footer to say "Forum Software by MyBB" or something like that. Make sure you keep the link back to MyBB.

Guest posting IS disabled, it's just annoying to have the userbase flood with people every other minute.
well, if you turn off the MyBB Captcha and use RSQ a lot of bots are programmed to beat the captcha - which is not there...which causes them to fail.
To try and fix the RSQ not showing, try to deactivate and activate. Did you add that theme AFTER you added RSQ?
you can use Recaptcha instead of MyBB's default captcha
and use your own set of questions and answers for registration security questions plugin
@.m - I currently do not use MyBB captcha or ReCaptcha and all seems pretty much ok; I do have my own questions for RSQ though.
I have the same problem too. It's always this Russian "bot" signing up with new accounts every day with new real email addresses... he is always 37 years old, he never post but he would fill the profile with links. MyBB forum register his total online time as 2~3 seconds at most after he had signed up and filled up his profile...
