The custom forum icons plugin that I have only allows that the icons that get uploaded must be a .gif image. Is there a way to change it from uploaded .gif images to .png images?
Would it just be replacing a piece of code?

simple method is to rename your png icons with gif. they work in all modern web browsers

I was converting the .png images to .gif but when they came out converted to .gif images, they didn't look right. The icons were all pixelated n stuff, looked very bad.. How do I do the method you said?

I seen that tutorial a while back. Prefer a plugin rather than messing around with the templates and stuff.
^ oh, suggestion is not to convert png files to gif files. just rename the png files as gif and use them.
filename.png <-- rename to filename.gif
