I'm about to merge a forum for http://hideinip.com (forum section for the hide in ip function) but I have some issues with the characters. Some characters just show up as completely indistinguishable characters, how can I solve this?

from which forum system (& version) and what is the character encoding of the original database

Where can I check the character encoding?

^ phpBB forum admin control panel home / system page should have a clue. or check it at the database manager
