If you're talking about having all of the information on the left side instead of the across the top, switch to classic instead of horizontal.
Or visa-versa. I might have misunderstood what you were asking.

^ admin panel >> configuration >> settings >> Show Thread Options --> Post Layout -->
select Display posts using the classic layout &
save settings
as it is a user option, you can use
force postbit layout plugin (just activate it)
