Hi all,

I've recently been having this idea of running a Bitcoin/Altcoin-related website, however I've never had a single website in production...ever.


I've only used Xampp with lax security to test or just personal PHP applications so I've ran standard PHP with standard Apache with standard MySQL and a root user with no password(on Windows).
So I am looking for some (good obviously)in-depth guide(s) on how to configure a web server for production use and be less likely to be hacked by some insecure by default part AND improving performance.

Some personal tips from experience would be nice as well.

Great place to start imo .

Linode are quite known in the Bitcoin community as they got hacked a few times and bitcoins were stolen. No, I don't mean the website via some SQL injection, I mean the host itself via the Linode Control Panel.

I'm not talking about for hosting but getting started. Their guides are some of the best to follow for popular distros that you'll find.
