Hello MyBB community,

I am new to MyBB but it seems like a great forum solution.

Before we can make it the forum for my organization's website, though, I need to address two issues:

1. We need someone we can turn to for help if we need it. As wonderful as the community forum is, it does not seem like a reliable mechanism for resolving issues that may arise.

Are there IT consultants with experience in MyBB or other options for paid, dedicated help?

2. Our concern above is partly driven by the fact that we had a problem right out of the gate and have not been able to get it completely resolved.

When we installed MyBB via the Quick Install tool in HostGator Cpanel, there was a problem with the .htaccess file that did not direct properly when one clicked on a forum or thread (a page not found 404 error is generated).

After a few calls to HostGator, they were able to fix the problem on one domain where we did a second test installation of MyBB. Unfortunately, they somehow were not able to replicate that solution on the primary domain where we actually need the forum.

So I am still in need of help to fix the problem with my .htaccess file or whatever is causing the problem.

peak-oil.org/forum is the directory where the problem installation of MyBB is located. The fixed installation is at energy-x.org/forum.

Thanks, Jan
