Hello,

The CAPTCHA feature on my forum is currently failing to work. I am using the MyBB Default CAPTCHA. I would prefer to try and recover this type, before opting to use 'reCAPTCHA'.

My server does have php_gd installed. I have confirmed this from my PHP Info page.

As you can see from the link below, it displays a broken image (i.e. not a message: 'No GD support'.)

What is your forum version?

I'm using 1.6.10.

PHP version 5.4.9 .
Go to ACP -> Tools & Maintenance -> Statistics. Do you see the Users/Threads/Posts graphs?

Then go to ACP -> Configuration -> Settings -> General Configuration -> set Disable All Plugins to Yes. Do you see the graphs and captcha now? If yes, please give me list of plugins you use.
Thanks for the reply.

At the moment, I have CAPTCHA disabled (I'm just mentioning this in case anyone tries to view the broken image on the registration page).

All of the graphs (Users / Threads / Posts) graphs display in 'Statistics'.

I tried disabling all plugins (after having re-enabled CAPTCHA) and it still wasn't displaying.

Just a reminder of my test link: http://31.172.248.138/captcha.php?action...ehash=mybb
What plugins do you have installed on your forum?

My only two plugins are:

Sphinx Search Engine (1.0.2)
Tapatalk (3.4.3)
What's the link to your forum?

http://forums.drwho-online.co.uk/

My thinking is, it cannot be anything on the page causing it to not display, because it does not even display directly (from my previous link).

Thanks,
I found this solution from another similar thread. Try this

Download notepad++, then open captcha.php in notepad++ and select format->convert to UTF8 without BOM. Save the file and ftp it back to your site.
