What i want to do is remove the small badge next to "Jamie" at the top, but in the process i don't want to remove it from the index page as that's basically what it's used for, See this..

how are you adding the badges to the usernames?

In username styles on the groups..

<span style="color: #bd0101;"><strong>{username}</strong></span><img src="images/badges/icon/mansfield.png" alt="">

in that case, unless you generate a new username variable, either via plugin or core edit, you can not remove the badge as it is part of profilelink variable and still maintain the color formatting.
