IN ome software theres a moderator option that allows a mod to post a thread wide / multiple users warning. They select the option, lets call it 'thread warning' and are given a chance to type in the reasoning, lets keep it simple and say "get back on topic"

this creates a post by the mod that cannot be ignored, quoted, etc and stands out due to font size, colour or whatever.

I would like to see something like this as at the moment the modnotice plugin as the closest thing but thats designed for modding a specific post or user.
I wonder if this would be possible with a moderator tool.

Do you have a link with an example?
Ok, let's look at Whirlpool - A custom platform. They have what is called a "Thread Notice", something similar to the bar near the top of http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-rep...?t=1935071.

It is not a post as such, but it is not easy to ignore either.
Closest I found is http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthrea...55&page=10

in regards a moderator tool, the issue is allowing each mod to input their own comment every time the tool is used.
Would that be the same modnotice that I referenced in my original post?
As much I understood this does the same.
There is no pre-configured message. Mods place a modcall and type down the text. Then it gets inserted in the original post with different background. The modcall is non-editable for the users.

yea the problem with that is its for modding a specific post instead of giving a general thread wide mod warning.

That's the theme used on http://demonate.com. It's a theme made specifically for the site and not publicly available.
