Is there a way (or a plugin) to show the portal announcements on the index page? I do not use the portal. I have tried inserting {$announcements} into the index template, and also tried the instructions in this thread to no avail:

you cant cuz there is no way/plugin to put portal in index
There's always a way to implement something into your MyBB forum however for this I think you need to request a plugin.
