I'm new to doing stuff like this installing plugin's manually. Can someone walk me through installing this plugin through FTP?

you can follow the structure of files and folders (see replies here) used in hyperportal plugin package
with filezilla you can drag and drop all files & folders in the plugin pack to your MyBB forum files root folder
