Hi i can successfully add new meni item using the following methos

but when i switch to thecure theme the newly added item does not appear. please guide me as to how can i add new menu items to thecure theme?

You would have to follow the tutorial and do all the edits again on your new theme.

Well i am just 2 weeks old into this with no programming background but i tried and had to edit code 3 to 4 times to make it work. Do take a look at

Which template are you editing?

i edited lang php and then members footer template

You are doing it incorrectly. If you want to edit the toplinks then you have to do it in the Header template and not the footer template.

Go to ACP>Templates & Styles>Templates>YOUR THEME>Header Templates>Header
