Make sure your cookie domain and path are set according to your address. For example:
Forums at: http://www.yoursite.com/forums
Cookie domain: .yoursite.com
Cookie path: /forums/
Also after changing your cookie path you will be "trapped" as logged in and have to remove your cookies to be able to login again.

I had a similar problem but it was that no one could log in. I had set the cookie path to what it was supposed to be i.e cookie domian: .fieldsportsdebate.co.uk and the path: /Forums/ (i know that the forums has a capital but thats how i had saved it) and nothing worked , so i left the cookie path clear and that sorted the problem out. Just thought i would let you know incase someone else has the same problem!
