I've disabled user profile access for anonymous users. So Google is reporting them as 404 not found.

The user url's are name : mysite.com/User-john etc.

I've SEO plugin installed.

As a good practice I don't want Google to try for those URL's. But excluding those using "User-*" pattern in robots.txt could be risky as this pattern is small.

How to avoid Google indexing those User- URL's?

either you have to use disallow rule in robots.txt or use Google webmasters tools to remove the url pattern from crawling

But User-* is very generic pattern.

^ IIRC, /User* is not used anywhere else. do you have member.php disallowed through robots.txt ? that might suffice
