I'm sorry for the extremely basic question which you probably get asked frequently, but everyone starts somewhere!

So where's an affordable place to buy a domain name and how would i merge it with my current forum?

The first question is out of the scope of MyBB support. There are thousands of domain registrars out there, all with similar prices for domain names. You can pick up a domain for less than $10.

As for your second question, you can use the Merge System to merge forums together.
