There is some contrast, may be not properly visible in screenshots. I wanted the theme to have unified look in-terms of colors so avoided too many shades.

Those are CSS buttons so it can be easily changed according to the preference.

Thank you, I always try to design something different. Some of the MyBB designs are pretty boring and follows the same pattern over and over again.
