Is there anyway to change the theme of the admin panel? (other than doing it by hand)

If you have another theme installed already then go to ACP>Templates & Styles>Themes>YOUR THEME>Options>Set as default and force on users

My bad. I just re-read your thread and the solution I posted earlier is completely unrelated.

To install a new ACP theme: Upload your theme files to /admin/styles/.

Make sure, you put them in a new folder so the path to the new theme becomes /admin/styles/NEWFOLDERNAME

After uploading the theme to your FTP. Log in to ACP>Preference>Admin Control Panel Theme

Pick the name of the theme you uploaded to your FTP from the dropdown.

as it is you will have to do it by hand ... there is no 'editor' for the admin cp
