I'm trying to upgrade from 1.6.9 to 1.6.11

The docs on the website for doing the upgrade did not match what came with the upgrade and I used the website.

During the upgrade process from 1.6.9 to 1.6.11 it read go to the the .../install folder, but the docs in the upgrade read go to the .../install/upgrade.php, which i did not do.

Found and fixed some plug-in errors, but this is where I'm stuck now.

When trying to post a message we get:

"The file upload failed. Please choose a valid file and try again. Error details: PHP returned error code: Array. Please contact your forum administrator with this error."

This message is seen when the users tries and previews the message, but does not occur when the user does NOT preview, but posts directly without previewing.

The PHP version is 5.4.21

Everything was working correctly prior to the upgrade.

USER: MyBB_TEST_user
PASS: testuser1

All plug-ins are disabled, and the problem persists.

This is exactly the same error I get. Disabled plugins, did complete reinstalls, nothing seem to be working. Permissions on upload-folder are correct (correct owner + too much permissions, 755 should be enough, I've set them to 777 for testing purposes). I tried to post directly, but gives the same error as well. These problems arised when upgrading from 1.6.11 to 1.6.12.

PHP version being used is 5.5.3 if I remember correctly.

EDIT:
I also do not know which template to edit, to get the full error message (don't know why, but an array has been returned by PHP).
