Blocking an entire country in the .htaccess file does indeed work flawlessly. But you should note, your server will check the .htaccess file upon each request. So if you don't want this error (depending on what machine your server is running ofc):

I'd not ban too much ips in the .htaccess file. Rather ban the ips in your database. Just use a run a query into your db
