hey friends today when i access my gmail, i received a email from google team and it says...

i click on the link what they provide and got my custom profile URL.. yeppy.. !!

could someone tell me more about how i received this email and why they chooses me for this URL ?

i found these requirements...

Eligibility for People
Ten or more followers
Your account is 30 days old or more
A profile photo
Eligibility for Local Google+ pages: Must be a verified local business
Eligibility for Non-local Google+ pages: Must be linked to a website

It's not hard unless you want a business g+ profile

I've got this message from google, but I don't get it, what are the benefits of such custom URL?

Aha, so Google now has to do all these "competition" type BS to promote GPlus. Haha, I find it funny.

I got mine some time back when it was quite difficult and at the discretion of Google, seems like they have relaxed the norms.
