I have installed mysql database and the Apache Web Server. The only thing left for me to do is to get the email server question answer.
First, I was told that I needed an smtp server to configure php to use php.ini via email. Later, I found out that I can only do this with sendmail.
After looking at my machine, an Intel Imac, I found out that Apple no longer supports sendmail and they have instead switched to postfix.
Can I install postifx as a mail server and configure php to use via php.ini for email? If so, I would rather go this way, since it is already built into the machine. If not, I can go ahead and download sendmail, install it on the machine and hopefully get my forum up and running.
with kind regards
