Hi there,

I am trying to install a Forum to attach to my website, and I was following a tutorial on Youtube on how to set it up. I followed it exactly how they did right up to the point where I saw this error:



To the guy on the video, all of his said 'Writable' so he just continued. I have tried setting permissions to what I think would work, but nothing does. Would anyone be able to help or give me the numeric value as to what I should set my permissions to on this file?

I have tried reading that, but I'm a complete flop when it comes to technical talk, haha. I tried setting it to 777 and 666, as well as trying to set it to what I believe is right, but I still get the same error.

^ you can make a new text file called settings.txt on your computer. rename it as settings.php
upload it to ./inc folder of your MyBB files server by overwriting existing file. that should solve it.

This still has not fixed it I'm afraid. It still has the same error.

Just sent them an email now, Thanks! I'll let you know if it's fixed.
