So I am using the portal but it only shows the latest posts or threads from one subforum , but when someone creates a thread in a different subforum it is not shown in the portal.

You need to edit it with the correct forum IDs. Go to your ACP > configuration > settings tab. Look for portal, or use ctrl+f to search. Edit "Forum ID to pull announcements from", you can find FIDs by clicking on the forum in the ACP > Forums and Posts, then click on the forum and at the very end of the URL it shows the forum number. If your URL when you click on a forum is http://localhost/admin/index.php?module=...ment&fid=4 ", then the FID would be 4.
