I need to use everyone's experience on this poll. Is it worth it to allow guest posting? Does it allow more contribution or just spam?

you can use a single forum for guests posting and add a couple of moderators for that forum
If you like spam then the answer is YES
I only have a single board (tech support / customer service) open for guest posts. All contributions to that board go through spam detection, and require moderator approval.
Why do I let guests post here? People may have issues with registering or logging in. A banned user may want to contest the action taken against him. Akismet and StopForumSpam take care of spammers who want to take advantage of the open board.

Reasons as follow:
1. You would have consistent visitors. Requiring a log in motivates people to browse more.
2. This would invite SPAM
3. Invites a lot of hacking attempts.
