I dont know what you want to accomplish but perhaps looking at
myBB ACP -> Configuration -> Custom Profile Fields
may give you some other idea how to do this.
You can add there to user account any custom profile fields you want, without even
using any plugin or PHP. Its one of many build in features of myBB
Members can operate on these fields in his profiles, moderators also may do stuff with them,
you can also access these fields easly from PHP, plugins, or templates with {$post['fidX']} or {$mybb->user['fidX']}
