To test the need to install an add-on mybb 1.4.

Mybb 1.4 is a pretty old script and maybe you get the error because it doesn't support PHP or SQL version

'TYPE=MyISAM'
(you can replace with 'ENGINE=MyISAM' and probably will work) but, it really does not matter now... marcus123 is right... MyBB 1.4 is old.
We are waiting MyBB 1.8 and you want to test "add-ons" for MyBB 1.4 ??? It's like you want to test a program for Windows 98 when was already released Windows 8.1.
I really don't think that you should look at MyBB 1.4!
