First I found this to be a bug, but Stefan T. said here that is an intended behaviour to avoid moving a moderator to a group with less permissions.
Anyway, I think that can be considered a suggestion. This is the scenario:
In AdminCP, when a user is promoted via Forum Management from "Registered" usergroup (gid=2) to "Moderators" (gid=6), he is displayed as moderator.
But, if this user is promoted from a CUSTOM usergroup (gid>=8), then this user is displayed as member of his initial usergroup even if is also a moderator.
I still try to understand the logic, but is annoying to see 2 moderators with with different usernames formats, like in this screenshoot: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/4gm7u/vikg
Now, also, if this user is demoted from moderators, he is 'returned' to "Registered" usergroup even if initial it was member of a CUSTOM usergroup (gid>=8).
I tried to offer a solution here but I want to know if this is a normal behavior !? And why ???
