Alright so after doing some forum updates I decided to change the default directory.

Currently its www.vnmet.ycn-hosting.com/MYBB/index.php

I had changed the MYBB directory to /forum/ earlier and re-loaded the index page but all I got was a white page. I tried to login but it didn't log me in correctly and also tried it with the admin cp though still couldn't login so I though its a directory issue and that I'll change it back to what it was which is what I did.

So now, I'm wondering how I would be able to change the default directory or path to my forum without any errors or screw ups occurring.

However what I don't want is to have the /forum/ directory, as I only done that as a test just to be sure if it would work correctly or not. No what I want is the forum to load from the main public_html directory...

Is there any way of doing this without having to re-install the forum?
Or should I just move all of the files etc into that directory?

you have to move the files to required sub-folder
also board url & cookie settings should be changed in ./inc/settings.php file and again at general configuration settings

this guidance should help in understanding cookie settings etc
