Guys I have seo plugin installed and my question is do I have to add only the Google SEO code into .htaccess or do I need to add everything that is in the example .htaccess like here

# EXAMPLE .htaccess FOR MYBB WITH GOOGLE SEO URL
# -------------------------------------------------------------------
# This file is identical to MyBB's htaccess.txt example file,
# with rewrite rules for a standard Google SEO install added.
#
# Before using this file please make sure to:
#
#   - replace /MyBB/ with your forum folder, e.g. / or /forum/
# - replace yoursite/MyBB with your forum URL
# - name the file '.htaccess' (starting with the dot, no .txt)
#
# Alternatively you can add the required rewrite rules to your
# existing .htaccess, the specific rules required will be displayed
# on the plugin status page once Google SEO URL is enabled.
# -------------------------------------------------------------------

Options -MultiViews +FollowSymlinks -Indexes

#
# If mod_security is enabled, attempt to disable it.
# - Note, this will work on the majority of hosts but on
# MediaTemple, it is known to cause random Internal Server
# errors. For MediaTemple, please remove the block below
#
<IfModule mod_security.c>
	# Turn off mod_security filtering.
	SecFilterEngine Off

	# The below probably isn't needed, but better safe than sorry.
	SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

#
# MyBB "search engine friendly" URL rewrites
# - Note, for these to work with MyBB please make sure you have
# the setting enabled in the Admin CP and you have this file
#   named .htaccess
#
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
	RewriteEngine on

	# Some hosts need a RewriteBase specification.
	RewriteBase /MyBB/

	# Google SEO workaround for search.php highlights:

So you just installed it right?
Go to you plugins and then you'll see the seo there will be a code that needs to be in the. Htaccess just copy and past it in your file then follow the other steps!

Good luck
Thanks @younes-ea I have it installed for a long time now but I am wondering if I really need all this mybb redirect code or only SEO one????
You only need the code from the plugin and nothing more you can delete the copy. Htaccess

Are you positive? Could yo then tell me please what the other code is used for?
As the name clearly states, the file in 1st post is used as example..

I'd leave:
Options -MultiViews +FollowSymlinks -Indexes
<IfModule mod_security.c>
    # Turn off mod_security filtering.
    SecFilterEngine Off

    # The below probably isn't needed, but better safe than sorry.
    SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>
<IfModule mod_deflate.c>
    AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/x-javascript text/css text/html text/xml
</IfModule>
from it because Google SEO doesn't take care of it, if I recall correctly.
Edit: delayed response

well, look at the top content given in the example file

MyBB has internal Search Engine Friendly URLs feature and it can be enabled by (Enable search
engine friendly URLs
?) setting at Server and Optimization Options. the extra code you are
referring is related to the SEF URLs feature
Destroy666 and .M. thanks guys very much now I understand. I am gonna just leave the whole code because as long as it doesn't harm my forum I am cook with it!
