I currently have a forum using SMF. Originally it was a free one from ProBoards. So, my members had to re register. If I decide to switch to mybb, will I be able to do it without my members having to do anything? I have already made them jump through hoops once.
I also publish Chitika ads. Will that be able to continue?

if you have
database backup from SMF then you can convert your forum to MyBB using
Merge system.
your earlier forum members do not have to register again in MyBB if you use the merge system.
you can use earlier advertisements system with MyBB
