hi ive noticed this for a while when i click the new posts button it only displays 1 or 2 posts when there is more new posts but there not listed , any ideas whats wrong

Try this

Go to Admin CP > Tools and Maintenance tab > Recount and Rebuild.

Recount everything.

Have recently set "Leverage Browser Caching" ?

sorted it now with this plugin http://mods.mybb.com/view/view-unread-posts now when my users click new posts it lists all unread posts
