So it says in option that it's 100x100, it said it as default when I installed mybb.
But, on the forums, it seems not to be 100x100.
I made a profile photo that's 100x100, this got minimized when it shows up on the forum posts etc.
How do I make it 100x100 on the forum posts!?
Go to ACP > Configuration > type 'avatar' in the settings search box, there's more than one setting for avatar size depending on where it is.
I am not an expert but I think if you upload a square image "200 x 200" then after resizing your image dimensions will be 100 x 100, however as you know most of the images are not square and if you try to make a square image from all the uploaded avatars then some will look ugly and nobody wants to have an ugly avatar.
If you upload "200 x 300" avatar then it will be resized to "100 x 150"

No, it would be resized to 66 x 100 as 100 x 150 is still bigger than allowed. And no, that wouldn't look ugly...
