Hi All,

I am looking at changing the moderator model on my site, where by my moderators are normal users, this will allow them to post and be a normal part of the site without being seen as moderators as this tends to lead to friction between the users and the moderators, as such I wanted to have just a single moderator account, with the users being able to switch into that skin or take on those permissions without having to login as another user.

So for instance they login as
JohnDoe
- see a thread that needs modifying
- Click the switch to mod-mode button
- Make the edit
- jump out of mod mode

Users will then only see "Modified by Moderators" and they will never know who the moderator is and who modified the post.

Wondering if anything like that exists?

why not create a new group and put users in it. assign it as a moderator group, dont show on forum team page and then dont set it as users display group. then edit the postbit_editedby template to remove the profile link

then you have no overhead of another plugin
