It would be nice if, apart from the global usergroup permissions, we could also edit users' permissions on an individual bases.
See this plugin, for MyBB 1.6, for what I'm talking about:

"Apply permissions to specific users instead of just usergroups."
For example; if you don't want your members to be able to set a custom user title until they reach a certain amount of posts, a system like this would allow for that.
Or, if a member misuses the custom title feature, you could take away their right to set custom titles.
So the basic idea is to reward users with certain privileges or features once they meet certain requiremens, or take features away for misusing them, without the need to create additional usergroups for this.
For 1.8, it is much too late for this, but I'm positive it could make it in 2.0.
