So I have this one theme, and I've been installing awards etc but when I change theme, awards do not show up, nor does anything else I've installed.

I've just had to keep reinstalling the plugins each time I change themes so they'll show up.

I'm pretty sure there is an easier way?

There isn't. You have to reactivate/reinstall them.

Just upload every theme you want to test and then reenable plugins only one time.

When changing themes, most of the plugins will stop working.
You have to de-activate and re-activate them in Configuration -> Plugins
