Upon hovering over the reCaptcha on signup it appears (for some reason) it is not in English (despite every setting I can thing being related being set to English).
I have no idea how long it's been like that as it's only just been brought to my attention.

I'm not using any plugin for reCaptcha, just the default setup with MyBB.
Using Cloudflare if that makes a difference (although turning off it's optimizations does not appear to change anything).

Here's how it appears.

Any ideas what the issue could be?

edit;
Already tried different browsers, tried proxies from various countries so I'm more sure it's a setup issue on the sites end
by default, it should be in English. can we have your forum url
http://ukcr.net

after a lot of looking around i still can't seem to figure it out...
I have it in Polish and I'm from Poland. So you must be Dutch and it gets your language based on ip or something else (like browser language - navigator.language in JS) automatically.
It shows up in the correct language for me, which is to say, no language at all, just gibberish. (ckclumm thrclft). Barely readable, I get it wrong lots of times. Audio captcha is English but I can't make out the numbers. Got it wrong 10 out of 10 tries.
He means the refresh/sound/info buttons' tooltips obviously...
Yes, they're English, as is the audio...

But the captcha itself used to be about words ("The reCAPTCHA service supplies subscribing websites with images of words that optical character recognition (OCR) software has been unable to read.", on Wikipedia).

That seems to be in the past, now. Instead you get hardly solvable captchas, they may keep spammers out, but just as likely to turn regular users away...

It's nice that MyBB added support for it, but the MyBB captcha (combined with a question) still works well for me. I'll avoid recaptcha as long as possible.
I guess it may be time for me to consider the options to replace it then.

If the language the tooltips/placeholder text display is based on IP, I am British, not dutch so it is a little confusing why it's displaying like that.
Where you enter the text and hovering sound etc. shows as either Japanese, Chinese, perhaps Arabic, well, I have no idea what language it is.

I live in the US (Washington state).
@wmc: that's Japanese, but you do not have a font with Japanese characters installed, so it shows hexadecimal codepoints instead.

go to http://httpbin.org/get and check what you have in "Accept-Language"; if it's missing, or something other than en-us,en (for English), you want to check your browser's language preference settings.
