I did on search on this an on cookies, but there is a LOT of stuff out there, but non that I saw that dealt with my issue.
I can login to my BB just fine and use it.
if i stay on my BB page it works fine.
if I leave my BB page, sometime I can reopen the page after a day and be logged in and do what I have to do.
but sometimes if I leave the page and come back in 10min, 1 hour or whatever, it wants me to re-login.
I can go to other BB's even this 1, and be already logged in when I open the site after weeks or months
thanks
I created this post because that thread seem to be unrelated
base on most of the posts I have read in that thread.
plus it is big and confusing
Does it happen for all users or only you? Did you try with another browser/computer?
from what I can tell it is just the 1 pc with windows vista.
& FF
it the only BB where I have the problem.
even this BB works fine.
I have deleted cookies from ho-tips.net and all related data with no change.
it did this a few BB versions back, I upgraded and it went away, then I upgraded again a few months ago, and the problem came back.
thanks
You can install an addon to your Firefox that allows you to view the cookies set by websites; you could then check your forum's cookie expiration date.

is there a way to set the forums cookie's expiration?
Remember me keeps the user logged in for a year, and that's hard-coded (you would need to modify some files). Do you have different date after checking the remember option? And what trying about different browsers?
I am not sure, but here is the fun part. but i upgraded to .12 yesterday, and now it let me in without logging in.
the remember thing maybe is the issue.
normally I start to type my login and FF fill it in.
where is the remember me info located?
thanks
wow
just very interesting that upgrading from .11 to .12 fixed the problem
