I'm new to all this website management, so I just wanted to ask someone experienced - what are all the steps to keep my database and all website files backed up and safe.

What do I have to do and what are the easiest and most convenient ways of doing it.

Are there some kind of softwares or apps that can help with it?

by now I was backing up the database via admin panel just like I marked on the next screenshot.

Is that fine? when I do the backup that way and save it on my computer (and send it to my gmail just in case) does that mean that in case my forum gets hacked I will be able to get back all the members, posts, threads etc from the day the backup has been made?

what about potential hackers? can they destroy/delete the files that make the forum design? how can I backup those files?

do you have any other advice for a noob like me that could improve the safety of my website in terms of hacking?

thanks a lot!

A plugin is also available on myBB's plugin repo:

Why do you need a plugin when there is a specific function build in MYBB?
depending on your host, you can also do it via your cpanel.
