Full Version: Do away with the ugly <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 ...

Can you please do away with this ugly doctype <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> in the default of Mybb 2.0. Instead use the cleaner <!DOCTYPE html> .
This is pretty much a given - regardless if we even use HTML5.

<!DOCTYPE HTML> should only be used if the content is HTML 5.
I guess it may not validate in XHTML/HTML4, but it still triggers standards mode in browsers.

It doesn't matter anyway. It'd be stupid not to use HTML5 in 2.0.

Much agreed. 2.0 is about advancing MyBB as much as we can, using HTML5 would be one of the best ways to do that. Making it one of the most modern free forum softwares out their. Smile
