I just wanted to ask if you can set the thread sort order in the myBB setting to show threads in order of last post.

So when a reply is made to a thread that thread is automatically positioned to the top of the forum, so most popular threads stay at the top.

Is this a standard setting in myBB admin?

yes, it is the default setting in MyBB system.
forum display page also has threads sorting options (available near the bottom part of the page)
