I have been running the file verification process to check on changed files and check whether they have indeed been changed.

I get a lot of hits on files, however when I check them and compare them to the original files, they look exactly the same. rss.php was one of them, and being a small file I could easily check it against the default.

Can anyone suggest why I might be getting these false positive hits?

View them in a program like KDiff, may be something like line endings? They'll look the same but they're not.
