Full Version: do you use a hit counter?

i'm wondering if this is worth it.

it seems a bit outdated. i rarely see it on any decent sites. however there is some appeal to being able to show your visitor your forum is viewed millions of times (after some months of build up of course).

what say you?
Hitcounters are tacky and old. I'd never ruin the style of one of my sites with one.

It could perhaps be bearable if it were placed in the sites statistics, but the average user doesn't care about how many hits you have.
Eh, no reason to use a hit counter anymore. They just annoy you by being on your index because they just won't fit the theme.

Go to your cPanel and check out your AwStats to see your page hits, unique visits, referred URLs and more information. It's a lot neater and provides more information.
Yes. I highly recommend statcounter. It's important to keep track of your statistics, where your users come from, and you can improve.
