I used the converter plugin a while back and everything went perfectly. All topics, posts, smilies .. everything copied over just fine. I have 1 problem though.
When users try to login using their correct password it says its incorrect. The password reset does not work for them ether. Is there a way I can fix this OR is there a way I can send every member a new random password via email?
Thank you in advance.
Did you run login converter plugin when you merged forums? It comes with a Merge System. You can probably now, force all users to change their passwords.
I used every converter that was with the plugin. User's can't login with their old password and using the force users to change password requests the user to enter their old password.
I'll try it but I have my doubts it will work since they can't login in the first place with their old password.
EDIT: I read up on the "force password reset" plugin and it requires the user to actually login first. My users can't login. Passwords are the only things that did not convert it seems. Is there not a way to randomly reset all user passwords or a usergroups passwords and email them all? because I've reset 3 or 4 members passwords manually but I don't want to reset every member separately. Thanks for any replies!

Can't they just request a new password with their emails?

MJay1989; if you ran a script that changes several users passwords at a time and sent them to their email as a task that would change all your users passwords pretty quickly.
However what would be easier is the built in password reset feature. Is there an error when users try to reset their password or do the emails not arrive? If it is the latter check to see if your email settings are correct by checking the System Mail Log. Admin CP -> Tools & Maintenance -> System Mail Log

I thought he meant when he tries to force them to reset it, it does not work. That is why I suggested doing the standard reset if they had not done so. I misunderstood.
So basically I wish to Change ALL users passwords to randomly generated passwords and email all users their new password.
I do not want to force users to change their own password. JordanMussi mentioned something I may be looking for. How would I run such a script?
You would have to write one yourself or request someone make one.
I'm pretty much new to all this and I wouldn't even know how to begin writing a script lol. So it looks like I'll be resetting everybody's password manually and sending emails 1 at a time lol.
Thank you for the replies!
