As the title says, I'm looking for a plugin for status updates similar to the ones IPB has (update from index, list in sidebar, comments with jquery, ability to report and delete a status, etc). I'm willing to pay for one if there isn't already a free version out there.

Thanks!
Perhaps try Euan's MyStatus? https://github.com/euantorano/MyStatus
That one is OK but it's not really what I'm looking for. I'd rather get MyShoutbox than that plugin. It's missing one key component and that is the ability to actually reply to one's status (comments).
Ok, perhaps contact Euan and see if he will custom code something for you?
Hmmm, maybe. But I remember WWEForums.net having a plugin exactly like the one I need. But it seems like it's been redirected to another address and now it's using a different platform. I wonder who the former owner was and if he still has the plugin for sale.
I've planned to add commenting an liking to MyStatus now for a long time, but MyBB development isn't my main focus at the moment.

WWEForums' I believe was custom coded for Crayo. They've now moved to XenForo though. You could try contacting Crayo, but I doubt he'd be interested in selling it.
Thank you for the replies!

I tried contacting Crayo asking if he still has the plugin and if he's willing to sell it, he told me he no longer has that. I also found a nice plugin that's for sale at yaldaram.com (http://www.yaldaram.com/thread-6589.html) but the site no longer supports PayPal payment so I can't buy it. I'll try using other methods though, and I'll keep looking for plugins.

Why don't you reach out to the owner? It may be possible that they can implement a new payment gateway to accomodate your needs, for everyone or even as a one off. For example, Western Union, Skrill, Stripe etc
I did actually send him a message regarding that option. Still waiting for a reply though.

That's a unique name... Wonder how he came up with that one? Wink
