I have set up a board for someone, but they do not want the members to use passwords, is this possible.

Don't laugh, but most of them are old and forgetful. But as i am building it for them i am trying to give them what they want.

That's not really safe at all, you know even 1 character password is better then none. Because the usernames are viewable for the public so they can just login then. You know most browsers do save passwords.
