Why would the developer of open source forum ask a question about development in a section where nobody can post except a select few.. Does the general oppionion not matter to you mybb?

These forums exist to discuss the actual development and therefore we only want people to post there who showed that they know how MyBB works and how it should be developed (see
How to become a Contributor). But even if you aren't a member of the Contributor Group you're still able to contribute: GitHub is open for everyone, we have the suggestion forums and the Bugs&Issues forums.
If you read the whole thread you will see the topic was initially created inside the staff forums and we decided it will be better suited for public discussion. Since we are still deciding how the contributors will be chosen and the roadmap for 1.8 Beta 1 is already established, that thread can wait a little longer.
Besides that, we have a public forum for ideas, where everyone can post.
I will close this thread. As a friendly reminder, trolling is not tolerated on these forums.
