I disabled the use of the PM system for 1 of the groups on my forum by unchecking all of the options under 'private messaging' in the group settings, but the users within that group are still able to receive PMs.

how can I stop that entirely? if someone is sending a PM to a user in a group that isn't allowed to use the PM system, they should get an error of some sort.

What you could do - very short term- is reduce their PM box space and change their number of PMs in the database. Cant receive PMs because the PM box is full.

another issue is this: a user within the group is apparently using the PM system according to the mybb status system, but I'm unable to access any part of the PM system when I drop a test account into that group, whatsoever.

the admincp doesn't should him as being in a 2nd group.

any opinions?

will it show that for him if he hasn't cleared his cache yet?
